1. Introduction

Balaya Migiso ("we," "us," or "our") operates this website and the educational content strategy course described on it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors and course participants, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices available regarding that information. This policy applies to visitors located in the United States and is written with reference to applicable state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).

By using this website, you acknowledge that you have read this policy. If you do not agree with the practices described here, we encourage you to discontinue use of the site or contact us with questions before proceeding.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in a few distinct ways. First, information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, and message content when you submit the contact form. Second, information collected automatically through standard web technologies, including approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring URLs. Third, information collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in more detail in Section 4 and in our separate Cookie Policy.

We do not knowingly collect financial account information, government identification numbers, or health information through this website.

3. How We Use Information

Information submitted through the contact form is used to respond to your inquiry and to maintain a record of correspondence. Automatically collected technical information is used to understand general site usage patterns, to diagnose technical issues, and to improve the structure and content of the site over time. We do not use collected information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

This site uses cookies to remember your consent preferences, to support core site functionality, and, where permitted, to understand aggregate usage patterns. A cookie consent banner allows you to accept, reject, or customize categories of cookies. Full detail on the categories used, their purposes, and how to manage them is available in our Cookie Policy, which forms part of this Privacy Policy by reference.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Where required by applicable law, we process personal information based on one or more of the following: your consent, our legitimate interest in operating and improving an informational website, and our need to respond to inquiries you submit voluntarily. You may withdraw consent for non-essential processing, such as analytics or marketing cookies, at any time through the cookie preference controls.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information in the conventional sense of exchanging it for money. We may share limited information with service providers who help operate this website, such as hosting providers and email delivery services, under obligations to protect that information. We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Balaya Migiso, our visitors, or the public.

7. Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and document the inquiry, typically no longer than a few years unless a longer period is required for legal, accounting, or reporting purposes. Aggregate or anonymized analytics data may be retained for longer periods since it does not identify a specific individual.

8. Data Security

We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information submitted to us.

9. Children's Privacy

This website and the course it describes are directed at adults operating freelance businesses or independent ventures. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.

10. Your Privacy Rights (California and Beyond)

Residents of California have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information has been collected, the right to request deletion of personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Residents of other states with comparable privacy laws may have similar rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law after verifying your identity.

11. Do Not Sell or Share My Information

We do not sell personal information to third parties for monetary consideration, and we do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a manner that would require an opt-out mechanism under the CCPA/CPRA. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide an appropriate mechanism to exercise applicable opt-out rights.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy.
